After the case of the “kissing couple” - another British person has fallen into difficulties in Dubai. Thirty-nine year-old Nicholas Warner from Essex has been sleeping rough on the streets of the city for twelve weeks. It follows an argument with his bank over whether his credit card bill was paid. Because of the dispute, his passport’s been seized, he’s lost his job and his wife’s had to flee the Emirate. With daily temperatures reaching 48 degrees Celsius and no resolution in sight, Nicholas is finding his situation increasingly desperate. Philip Hampsheir reports on one man whose Dubai dream has turned into destitution.
