Date 22 May 2010 , Time 6 AM IST . An Air India plane with around 160 passengers on board overshot a runway on landing in Mangalore on Saturday and burst into flames. Police said that there could be several causalties. Emergency services have been pressed into action at the site of the accident. “We fear there are several casualties,” an airport official told the NDTV. Television footage showed the plane, which was arriving from Dubai , apparently lying on its belly, with smoke billowing from the fuselage as rescue workers sought to douse the fire.
May 20 (Bloomberg) — Richard Stovin-Bradford of the Financial Times; Lex commentary team talks with Bloomberg’s Deirdre Bolton about Dubai World’s debt. The state-owned holding company agreed “in principle” with a group of creditor banks on terms to restructure .4 billion of loans.
