Recession hit Gulf deporting employees as a ploy to save money? Thats what the 69 deported Indian Nationals claim is the reason they were sent home without being paid their salaries.In the last fortnight, a total of 69 Indian nationals were deported to India from Qatar and Dubai for asking for their overdue salaries. The case of one of the deported, Alkesh Sharma, an MBA, is especially alarming. Sharma, who was working as the MD of a trading company in Dubai, was allegedly arrested and put behind bars for 5 months for being reported as absconding by his company. “I had been issued a Driving License in November 2008, while the complaint stated that I was absconding since August 2008.
